ICC Discussion Forum A highly trafficked discussion forum about the International Churches of Christ, mostly from a former member or skeptical viewpoint of the movement.

Ex-ICC Member's Discussion Forum This forum exists to provide a gathering place for ex-members of the International Churches of Christ, also known as the Boston Movement and the Crossroads Movement. In addition, family and friends of current ICC members are welcome to participate here. Current ICC members are free to read the forum, but are not allowed to post.

Includes former member stories, a comparison of the ICC vs. Robert Jay Lifton's Eight Themes of Thought Reform, and Michael Langone's study measuring psychological distress among former members and psychological abusiveness of the ICC

The Discipling Dilemma, Flavil R. Yeakley, Ed.

The 1988 book including church growth researcher Flavil Yeakley's landmark study that found unhealthy personality change among members of the Boston Church of Christ. Out of print: read it online for free by clicking the above link.

A terrific recovery book, including chapters on the cult phenomenon, the healing process and stories from ex-cult members

Combatting Cult Mind Control by Steven Hassan

Steve Hassan's widely read book. Includes information about his time in the Unification Church ("Moonies"), a clearly communicated depiction of destructive mind control, and descriptions of his exit counseling methodology at the time the book was written in the late 1980s.

Releasing the Bonds: Empowering People to Think for Themselves by Steven Hassan

Hassan's year 2000 follow-up to Combatting Cult Mind Control. An especially valuable resource for readers with loved ones in destructive cults, this book details communications strategies for interacting with people in cults and engaging their critical thinking.

The founder of this site has created another site about the Jehovah's Witness/Watchtower Society organization at AccurateKnowledge.org. Those familiar with the ICC may find the similarities with the JWs -- or with any cultic group -- to be interesting.
